“Baltic Pride 2024” is taking place in Riga

From June 6 to 15, "Baltic Pride 2024" is taking place in Riga, which offers a wide program of events, highlighting the issues of human rights, diversity and inclusion in community involvement, business and society in general.

June 1 marks the start of the internationally recognized Pride Month – a month when the rights, diversity and inclusion of LGBTQ people are especially highlighted around the world.

As part of “Baltic Pride 2024”, which will take place from June 6 to 15, more than 70 events will take place, including the Diversity and Inclusion Forum, the presentation of Diversity Awards, educational discussions on LGBTQ topics, performances, creative workshops, queer film days, exhibitions and other important events.

At the climax of “Baltic Pride 2024”, on Saturday, June 15, the traditional pride march will take place, in which several thousand participants will take part, including dozens of organizations and companies from all over the Baltics.

This year, the main motive of the “Baltic Pride” march is to celebrate the introduction of the regulation of partnership relations in Latvia, which will come into force on July 1 of this year and will allow all couples to register their partnership, including same-sex couples.

As a special guest of “Baltic Pride 2024”, the mayor of Oslo, Anne Lindboe, will come to Riga, who will attend various pride events related to human rights, as well as meet with representatives and officials of non-governmental organizations.

Baltic Pride’s central meeting and event venue will be the Pride House, which after a two-year hiatus is returning to the Kaņepe Cultural Center.

This year, for the first time, the month of Pride will also be celebrated outside of Riga – the event “Flourishing in Cēsis” will take place in the art space of MALA.
